Nina Chanel Abney
At the Art Museum of WVU
The Art Museum of WVU provides an educational and research environment for students and the general public on campus. The museum owns a large collection that they display in the McGee Gallery on a rotating basis every semester. Additionally, the museum hosts traveling exhibitions from all over the world in the Bright Gallery every semester. Nina Chanel Abney was a traveling exhibition that visited the Art Museum fall 2023.
Curiosity Series
A brochure is mailed and placed strategically across campus to advertise a handful of College of Creative Arts and Media events, including the Nina Chanel Abney exhibition at the Art Museum of WVU.
banners and Ads
Exhibition cards accompany the brochure that include details of each exhibition. Items are mailed to subscribers who joined the mailing list and donors of the Art Museum.
Outdoor banners are hung outside of the museum facing the road. The banners display current exhibitions on display that semester.
Gallery
Gallery vinyls were created for the exhibition in the Nutting Gallery at the Erickson Alumni Center. The title wall continues the Violins of Hope secondary branding within the West Virginia University brand.
Social media
The marketing and communications team also facilitates social media advertising for the Art Museum of WVU. These are examples of graphics created for the Nina Chanel Abney exhibition as well as miscellaneous ads for other museum events. All graphics adhere to the brand standards of WVU and the secondary branding of the exhibition.
Website
The Art Museum of WVU has its own website, also managed by the marketing and communications office. The website is home to past and present exhibitions, event reminders, and information to donate.
